- Cornflower, Mountain Cornflower
- Height: 17-20 inches
- Hardiness Zone: 3-9
- Exposure: Full Sun
- Bloom Time: June-July
- Each Quart contains 1 Amethyst Dream Plant
The soft light, grayish-green foliage of the Amethyst Dream Centaurea is the perfect backdrop for these vividly colored, frilly and unique flowers. The leaves have minute silvery hairs which makes them appear so soft, and which mutes the green slightly, which in turn, absolutely makes these gorgeous royal purple flowers "pop". Simply stunning! Mountain Bluet grows in sunny locations with moist, well-drained soils. They do tolerate drought conditions once they are established. Butterflies, bees and other insets enjoy the pollen and nectar while deer tend to stay away. A second late season bloom is possible if the plant is cut back to the ground after the first flush of flowers is over. Centaurea plants should be divided every 3-5 years.
Common Names: Cornflower, Mountian Cornflower, Mountain Bluet, Centaurea Montana, Perennial Cornflower
Centaurea Companion Plants: Delphinium, Grasses, Iris

Comment: I ordered the mountain bluet plant along with two other pollinator plants. They arrived in a single box and in good condition. I was excited to see live plants available from GrowJoy as I have had mixed luck with bare root plants I received from other companies. I transplanted the three plants I purchased from GrowJoy into larger planters and all three are thriving. I'm very pleased with my purchase and plan to buy from GrowJoy again.
