Balmy™ Purple Monarda Plants boasts trademark fluffy blooms of vibrant purple that sit atop dark green foliage that is wonderfully aromatic with a mixture of basil and mint tones. This series extends the flowering season with earlier blooming, and it mildew resistant! Beebalm plants flourish on a wide range of soils but do their best with moderately moist to wet soils. They will tolerate some drought once established. These nectar rich flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The flowers also produce a fruit that wild birds enjoy, so don’t deadhead the plants! Monarda can be planted under black oak trees. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid these plants.
Companion Planting: Achillea, Eupatorium, Grasses, Phlox, Salvia

Comment: Plant arrived in beautiful condition and began thriving immediately upon transplant. Did seem susceptible to powdery mildew, but that's on me, not GrowJoy. -) So water only at soil level and enjoy this beauty.
