Plant Features

The Dinnerplate Dahlia, 'Belle of Barmera', dazzles with petals that paint a sunset palette, shifting seamlessly from apricot and coral to rich raspberry and rose pink. The flower's 8 to 10-inch diameter showcases loosely twisted petals, granting the blossom both texture and a sense of movement. These magnificent blooms, ever-changing in their coloration due to weather and daylight variations, grow on tall plants with distinct, dark stems. As they stand tall and upright, they become ideal cut flowers, presenting a breathtaking spectacle. Not only are they visually striking, but they also harmonize effortlessly with other colors, ensuring they're the center of attention in any bouquet.

Dahlia Plant Care: Wait until green sprouts emerge from the soil before watering. Then water deeply 2-3 times per week. Daily if in containers. Fertilize every 2 weeks for containers and every 3 weeks for soil grown. Use fertilizers that have a lower nitrogen count, generally half the amount of the other two on the NPK ratio. After frost has turned foliage brown, dig up the tubers and store them for the winter.
