Plant Features

Our Blackout Heuchera Plant was developed by Dirk Scheys of Belgium. Having leaves that are very dark, almost black, compared to Heuchera Obsidian, the industry standard for dark-leaved Alumroot, Blackout's foliage is darker in color. Also out-performing Obsidian when it comes to vigorous growth, Blackout's compact growth habit makes it ideal for low borders and containers. Known to attract hummingbirds, the creamy white flowers appear midsummer and rise about 18 inches above the starkly contrasting foliage.

Comment: This plant came in a small pot, but was very healthy. The packaging was excellent! After transplanting to a larger pot, this Black Out Heuchera quickly grew to fill out the larger pot. It was a VERY dark purple color when it arrived. It's now planted in the garden, so I'll have to see how it's color changes when it's exposed to more sunlight.
