Chive Herb Plants produce leaves that offer a mild onion flavor that makes an excellent addition to egg dishes, cheeses, salads, soups, over sour cream on baked potatoes, and in butter sauces. They are best used fresh. Chives are high in vitamins C and A and calcium, and possess antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. If you don’t care to see the clusters of pinkish-purple flowers that will appear atop the leaves, cut the plant back to the ground a few times during the growing season to keep yourself a fresh supply of leaves. Chives grows best in full sun locations with moist, well-drained soil. It can be grown indoors next to a south facing window. Indoor plants should be watered just as the potting mix starts to dry.
We grow our Chive Herb Plants organically and guarantee them to arrive alive and thriving!
