Clair de Lune Clematis Plants produce large flowers that have a base color of white which is suffused with pale lilac becoming darker at the edge of the eight wavy petals and stunning dark anthers. Blooms are most colorful when grown in a lightly shady area. Flowers on new and old wood so not pruning is needed. Clematis require moist soils to grow well. In northern gardens the do best in full sun but prefer lightly shaded areas in southern gardens. Deer seldom bother clematis.
