Creme de Cassis Alcea Plants command attention with its 3-4-inch-wide flowers that open to display a yellow eye surrounded by a berry-colored nucleus, striating out to creamy white, slightly ruffled edges. With this variety you may find both single and semi-double blooms on a single stem! Hollyhocks are long-blooming perennials that grow well in full sun locations. Plants tolerate a range of soil conditions and some light shade but will not tolerate wet soils. Attracts hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies while keeping away the rabbits and deer. Tolerates black walnut trees.

Had some black spots on foliage. Watching and waiting for new growth. It will be a long wait for blooms next spring but I know it will be worth it.

Comment: First season this gorgeous plant's foliage took off & spread about 1 1/2' wide. The flowering stalk was about 15' high with tons of flowers. I've never seen anything so beautiful! It bloomed til end of October. It's April 17th and it already is spreading very nicely. I have 2 more that I can't wait to see they really add a nice flavor to the garden.
