Plant Features

Daring Deception Hemerocallis displays a truly unique color combination, making it an attention-getter in any setting. This Daylily's blossoms grow up to 5-inches in diameter with celery-green and yellow throats whose outer edges are lined with beautiful purple scallops. The light pink, beautifully ruffled petals are also edged with purple standing out charmingly against paler pink, lightly-ruffled sepals. Its vigorous growth and prolific re-blooming habit will make this Daylily one of your favorites. Daring Deception ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).

Common Names: day lilies, daylily, day lily

Hemerocallis Companion Plants: Crocosmia, Geranium, Grasses, Nepeta

Daring Deception Hemerocallis Plant Care: Besides apply water if the plant starts looking droopy (which is practically never), there is not much else this plant needs. The flower stalks can be cut back after the plant is done blooming for the season. Dividing daylilies is not necessary unless you don't want them spreading. Division can be done in early fall when the foliage is being cut back to the ground.
