Plant Features

Earlybird™ Blue White Aquilegia Plants produce beautiful, upward facing blue and white blooms and a compact growing habit that make it a standout among your early season bloomers. The nectar filled flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds while deer and rabbits tend to avoid them. Columbine grows well in borders, pollinator gardens, wildlife gardens, cottage gardens, at woodland edges, and are excellent in containers and as cut flowers.

Common Names: granny's Bonnet, columbine, European crowfoot

Aquilegia Companion Plants: Digitalis, Euphorbia, Geranium, Hemerocallis, Hosta

Earlybird Blue and White Aquilegia Plant Care Instructions: Plants do best with consistently moist soils. After the spring flowering is completed, cut the flower stems back for a possible rebloom. Division of the roots can be done every three years in early spring for hybrid varieties. Open-pollinated types will self-seed so dividing the plant will not be necessary.
