Plant Features

Emory Paul is the largest Dahlia around, growing to be a breathtaking 14 inches in diameter! Not only is it massive, but the colors also make the blooms beautiful! The eye is a deep pink that fades into lighter shades of pink. Emory Paul ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots a win for the environment.

Dahlia Companion Plants: Geranium, Salvia

Emory Paul Dahlia Plant Care Instructions: Plants should only be watered if there is no rain for a week or if the plant starts wilting. If you want more blooms, snip off the top leaf stem once there are at least 3-4 sets of sets of leaves growing. In the fall, after frost has turned the foliage brown, the tubers should be dug back up and stored for the winter.
