Plant Features

The File (fil-A) Gumbo Cajun Hibiscus plant is kind of hard to describe. It's kind of a taupe-ish or dark sandy brown, maybe with just a hint of green that fades to this silvery hue of violet with a startling crimson center. It is one of the more unusual single-bloomed varieties and sure to be a conversation piece. This beautiful plant boasts large 6-7 inch blossoms and a full vigorous habit. These gorgeous flowers grow well in containers or as a beautiful accent in landscape! In northern climates Cajun hibiscus are grown as house plants or annuals. In southern climates these sun loving plants can even be planted close together to form a unique hedge or living privacy wall. These tropical plants thrive in full sun locations. Plants need to be kept well watered, especially in the heat of the summer.
