Flat Leaf Parsley offers a flavor that is slightly nuttier and more pungent than curly-leaf varieties. Its flavor and texture hold up better in cooking. All parts of this plant are useful and beneficial for culinary and medicinal purposes. Plants are loaded with vitamins A, B, and C. Parsley grows best in full to part sun locations with moist, well-drained soil. Plants attract beneficial insects and it is a host plant for the Black and Anise Swallowtail butterfly. It can be grown indoors next to a south facing window. Indoor plants should be watered just as the potting mix starts to dry.
Flat Leaf Parsley Plant Care Instructions: Parsley can be harvested throughout the season. It is best to harvest leaves from the outside first. Harvest no more than 1/3 of the plant at a time. Seed heads should not be allowed to develop. Plants can be cut back to the ground after the first frost. Parsley does not survive the winter; however, it sometime self-seeds and sprouts will appear in the spring.
