Plant Features

Basil-Hot Herb is fast becoming a favorite in the backyard garden, its purple stems and flowers being attractive, but its peppery, spicy, minty flavor adding a whole new dimension to everything from simple stir-fries to more complex dishes with pork or seafood. It is also called Thai Basil. Hot Basil is relatively fragile and will lose much of its punch after just a few days in the refrigerator. It is always best harvested fresh, with the next best option being to dry it, soaking the dry leaves in cold water to reconstitute it before use.

Comment: Re-ordered the plant this year. It arrived in a great packaging, but some leaves had dark spots on them. Customer service promptly re-sent me another plant. Could not be happier!

Comment: Ordered it a year ago. It arrived healthy and grew nicely during the summer while it was planted in the ground. I used it a lot during the summer. In the fall, i decided to re-plant it in a pot and take it inside, but unfortunately it did not survive re-planting. I loved the flavor so much that I'm re-ordering it now and will plant it in a pot.

I set it in front of a south window and it is doing very well. I enjoy this aromatic pl... More details
