Incarnata Maypop Passiflora Plant may be one the most unique flowering vines you'll ever grow. The intricate, out of this world blooms arrive in shades of lavender and purple and sport an array of petals with an interesting fringe of filaments that resembles a crown. Combined with prominent pistils and sepals it's a fascinating, fragrant flower that produces nectar for butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. This purple passionflower produces yellow fruits, called Maypops, that are enjoyed by a host of wildlife. It is also a host plant for the Gulf Fritillary and Zebra butterflies. Passiflora prefer full sun locations with some afternoon shade in Southern gardens.

Comment: The plant arrived healthy and bloomed soon after. I tried growing Maypop from seed and failed so I’m glad to have it. I’ve transferred to a larger pot while I think about the best spot for ground planting. It is growing and about to bloom again.
