Jacob Cline Bee Balm Plants produce gorgeous striking-red flower blooms that virtually guarantees hummingbirds, butterflies and bees will flock to your garden. The fragrant foliage is more resistant to powdery mildew than most older varieties. Beebalm plants flourish on a wide range of soils but do their best with moist, well-drained soil. It is a mid- to late season bloomer for butterfly and hummingbird gardens. Monarda can be planted under black oak trees. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid bee balm.
Monarda Companion Plants: Achillea, Eupatorium, Grasses, Phlox, Salvia
Jacob Cline Monarda Care: Plants should be always kept well-watered. The dried flowers produce a fruit that wild birds enjoy, so don’t cut back the plants back to the ground till late winter or early spring. Early spring is also a good time to apply fertilizer for the year.

Comment: I don't know of anything that is more worth the money than bee balm, and specifically Jacob Cline. The color is attractive to pollinators. I never have had as many hummingbirds until bee balm. I've never been disappointed, and that is rare, by an order from GrowJoy. Watching the sales is causes repeated orders but the plants are worth it.

Comment: I was hesitant to buy Jacob Kline because of the heat and humidity here in Texas. Joe S. suggested I pot it and provide some shade during heat of the day. Seems to be doing very well so far. Thanks.

Comment: Ordered 5 plants and all arrived in good packaging, leafy and ready for planting. I like the way they look and cannot see any reason they will not be successful. I'll be pinching them back several times until July 4 to keep them from getting 7 feet tall.

Comment: I ordered two types of monarda. One hanging in there, not much growth, this one was doing great until heat set in (100+ degrees, then puny-ed out. Put in shaded area with diffuse light and is recovered but no blooms. Hummingbirds are looking elsewhere, and the monarchs are eating my dill and rue.

Comment: Plant arrived well packaged, healthy and ready to transplant. After pairing it in a pot with the Rudbeckia it has totally taken off and is thriving. Out of all my plant orders from GrowJoy, this is my favorite plant and I'm looking forward to seeing its flowers along with those of its sunny Black Eye Susan companion.

Comment: The Jacob Cline Monarda plant arrived in beautiful packaging, very good condition. Unfortunately, the deer nibbled it a bit, so I'm hoping they leave it alone!
