Plant Features

Kismet® Red Echinacea (Kismet Red
Coneflower) produces dense, compact plants with large, brilliant red flowers with orange cones that start blooming early and do not stop until frost. It is a standout in the garden or in containers. Coneflowers grow well in moist to dry, well-drained soils in full to part sun locations! Bees and butterflies are attracted to its pollen while songbirds enjoy the seed heads once they dry out. Deer tend to avoid the plants.

Echinacea Companion Plants: Achillea, Coreopsis, Delphinium, Geranium, Grasses, Hemerocallis, Monarda, Phlox

Kismet Red Echinacea Plant Care Instructions: Only water if the plant starts looking droopy. Spent flowers should NOT be trimmed back if you want to attract songbirds as they enjoy the dried seed heads. Cut it back to the ground in late winter or early spring before the new growth starts. Comment: We love the color on this coneflower as its one we didn't yet have in our pollinator garden. It arrived well packaged and healthy. Since we planted it in the spring it has been growing well...and attracting the butterflies! Do not fear, growjoy offers great plants.
