Plant Features

Magnus Superior Echinacea (Magnus Superior Coneflower) is the improved version of a long-time staple in perennial flower beds. It offers magenta-pink petals that surround a bronze center cone. The flowers bloom throughout summer on vigorous plants. An excellent native prairie species for attracting wildlife to the garden or as a cut flower! Coneflower is great at attracting butterflies, bees, and seed-eating wild birds. Plants perform best in full sun locations with well-drained soil. They are drought tolerant once established. Rabbits and deer avoid these plants.

Echinacea Companion Plants: Achillea, Coreopsis, Delphinium, Geranium, Grasses, Hemerocallis, Monarda, Phlox

Magnus Superior Echinacea Plant Care Instructions: Only water if the plant starts looking droopy. Spent flowers should NOT be trimmed back if you want to attract songbirds as they enjoy the dried seed heads. Cut it back to the ground in late winter or early spring before the new growth starts. Spring is a good time to apply fertilizer for the year.

Comment: I ordered one of the Magnus Superior Coneflowers. It arrived intact but was very small compared to the other flowers I've ordered from GrowJoy. I planted it about 3 weeks ago and it appears to be a very slow grower. I'm hoping to see a good growth spurt, maybe as the weather warms up some. I am very pleased with GrowJoy - their packaging and Customer Service is excellent!
