Plant Features

New Vintage™ Violet Achillea Plants bring magical clusters of flat-topped blooms in a striking shade of violet, hovering over feathery, fern-like foliage that is pleasantly aromatic. This one combines the best of classic yarrow with a fresh new color twist! It tolerates drought once established and the salty conditions found in coastal gardens. The tiny flowers attract bees and butterflies, while the dried seed heads appeal to wild birds. Deer and rabbits tend to leave it alone.

Common Names: yarrow, old man's pepper, devil's nettle, sanguinary, milfoil, soldier's woundwort, thousand seal

Achillea Companion Plants: Dahlia, Eryngium, Hemerocallis, Ornamental Grasses, Phlox, Phygelius, Rudbeckia, Saliva

New Vintage Achillea Plant Care: Keep the plant well-watered for the first 4-5 weeks. After that, only water if the plant starts looking droopy. They are not picky about the soil type if it is well drained. Plants can be thinned if they become too dense. Because yarrow does not die back completely in the winter, wait till spring to remove any old dead growth. To maintain its vigor, plants should be divided every 3-5 years.
