Niobe Clematis Plants produce beautiful, dark velvet-red, 5-8 inch, single flowers that bloom in summer. Clematis require moist soils to grow well. In northern gardens the do best in full sun but prefer lightly shaded areas in southern gardens. Deer seldom bother clematis.

Clematis Companion Plants: Dahlia, Phlox, Salvia
Niobe Clematis Plant Care Instructions: Plants do best with a climbing support and with a few inches of mulch to keep their roots cool. Flowers are produced on new growth only, so plants can be prunned back 12-16 inches after each round of flowers are done. Plants should be pruned back hard in early spring before the new growth begins.
