Obsidian Heuchera Plants offer very dark purple, almost black foliage. It is one of the darkest foliage cultivars available. Its smooth, shiny, rounded foliage forms nice compact mounds and gives way to small creamy-white flowers that bloom on wiry scapes in late spring and early summer. A wonderful plant, commonly called alumroot, to use as an accent or against lighter colored foliage plants in the garden in order to best appreciate its intense blackish hue. The evergreen foliage makes an attractive groundcover. Heuchera will attract hummingbirds.
