Purple Emperor Echinacea Plants produce large, magenta-purple flowers on sturdy, well-branched stems that are held in perfect proportion to the bushy clump of deep-green foliage. This impressive grower is quick to make and mature flowers, and are extremely fragrant. Petals transition to a lighter pink as it matures while the center remains a bright magenta. Coneflowers grow well in moist to dry, well-drained soils in full to part sun locations. Bees and butterflies are attracted to its pollen while songbirds enjoy the seed heads once they dry out. Deer tend to avoid the plants, and once established, is known to be very drought tolerant.
