Purple Taiheijo is a perfect dinnerplate dahlia with its concoction of purple, wine red, and candy pink! The eye is a dark purplish-red that fades into lighter shades the closer to the tips you get. Also growing up to a massive 12-inches! Purple Taiheijo ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).

Purple Taiheijo Dahlia Plant Care Instructions: Plants should only be watered if there is no rain for a week or if the plant starts wilting. If you want more blooms, snip off the top leaf stem once there are at least 3-4 sets of sets of leaves growing. In the fall, after frost has turned the foliage brown, the tubers should be dug back up and stored for the winter.
