Quartz® Red Penstemon features stems that are topped in early summer with scarlet red, tubular flowers. Heat and drought tolerant, this one will bloom all season long! Beardtongue plants do best in full sun locations and will tolerate nutrient poor soil, even gravely soils; must be very well drained. It is not recommended to use traditional mulch on this plant, use gravel if you must mulch at all. Penstemon are exceptional at attracting pollinators and they are seldom browsed by deer or rabbits.
