Astilbe Red Sentinel Astilbe features a foliage mound of deep green, serrated leaves and firmly upright panicles of crimson red flowers on stems rising to 2.5-feet tall in late spring. Just the slightest breeze will set these airy plumes to dancing! Red Sentinal ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).
Common Names: false spirea, false goat's beard

Red Sentinal Astilbe Plant Care Instructions: Plants should never allow to dry out. The spent flowers can be removed or left on for garden interest. Foliage can be trimmed back to the 2-inchs above the ground in early winter.
