Red Wings Phlox Plant is covered with star-shaped deep crimson flowers with dark red centers above a carpet of semi-evergreen foliage. Our coastal gardeners absolutely love this red color against sandy-colored, salty soil. Known to attract butterflies, this is a must for every garden!

Red Wings Creeping Phlox Plant Care Instructions: Keep the plant well-watered for the first 3-4 weeks. For continuous flowering keep the soil most, 2-3 inches of mulch will help. Early spring a great time to add fertilizer, another application can be applied in June. Creeping phlox should be trimmed back by 1 inch after flowering is done each spring. Because it is an evergreen it should never be cut back to the ground. Roots can be divided every 4 years in early fall.

Comment: We've actually had two different orders recently from GrowJoy, Pink Dianthus plants about six weeks ago, and more recently the Red Wings Phlox. The Dianthus package arrived partly damaged in handling, but because of the individual pot GrowJoy packed them in, all of the Dianthus survived and seem now to be thriving, putting out bright blossoms in the late August coolness of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains.
