The Astilbe Rheinland is an early-blooming astilbe that produces feathery clusters of pink to rosy mauve are light and airy, rising above deep green foliage. This plant forms graceful borders and is great in mass plantings. Rheinland ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).
Common Names: false spirea, false goat's beard
Astilbe Companion Plants: Ferns, Helleborus, Hosta
Rheinland Astilbe Plant Care Instructions: Plants should never allow to dry out. The spent flowers can be removed or left on for garden interest. Foliage can be trimmed back to the 2-inchs above the ground in early winter.
