Royal Athyrium Plant bears very long fronds with spear-shaped leaves that are slightly serrated and closely resemble ash or locust trees. The Royal, sometimes called Regal, Fern spreads slowly but has an extended life span. In very wet and humid areas, such as Florida, these ferns grow in the wild to tree-like proportions.
