Royal Ruby Sempervivum Plants offer brightly succulent foliage that emerges an exuberant, ruby-red before maturing to a more sedate brick-red color. 12 inch dark burgundy stems tower above the foliage in midsummer, bearing pretty-in-pink, star-shaped blossoms. Drought-tolerant once established, this long-lived perennial actually grows best in sandy soils (though it adapts well to other types) and is salt-tolerant as well.
