Royal Standard Hosta is a vigorous, fast-growing hosta that produces bright green leaves that are 9 inches long. Growing to be 51 inches wide. Its flowers attract hummingbirds and bees. Royal Standard ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).

Royal Standard Hosta Plant Care Instructions: Soil should be kept moist during the early part of the season. Once the summer heat sets in, the soil can dry slightly between waterings. In late fall, after frost has turned the foliage brown, it should be cut back to the ground. Roots should be divided every 3-5 years. Early fall or early spring is an excellent time to divide. Spring is also the best time to apply one application of liquid fertilizer.
