Stella de Oro Hemerocallis is the queen of popular daylilies. It offers 3-inch golden-yellow flowers that begin to bloom in early summer and continue to bloom through early fall. The bloom count slows down in the heat of the summer. Daylilies are tough perennials that can survive less than ideal conditions including poor, dry soil, slopes, and planting under Black Walnut trees. Stella de Oro ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).
Common Names: day lilies, daylily, day lily
Hemerocallis Companion Plants: Crocosmia, Geranium, Grasses, Nepeta
Stella de Oro Hemerocallis Plant Care: Besides apply water if the plant starts looking droopy (which is practically never), there is not much else this plant needs. The flower stalks can be cut back after the plant is done blooming for the season. Dividing daylilies is not necessary unless you don't want them spreading. Division can be done in early fall when the foliage is being cut back to the ground.

Comment: The plants were packaged well as usual. All 4 are doing well - one is already blooming even though I didn't expect any of them to until next spring. Beautiful color variation.
"Healthy and beautiful!"
