Plant Features

Summerific® Cranberry Crush Hardy Hibiscus Plants produce large 7-8 inch, deep scarlet flowers that spring from buds that are almost black. It offers a full, compact growing habit with more prolific blooming than some hibiscus varieties. It is an indeterminate bloomer, which means that it bears flowers at nodes all along the flowering stems, not just at the top. The leathery, maple-ish leaves are glossy and deep green with slightly purple overtones. Hardy Hibiscus plants thrive in full sun locations with moist-wet, nutrient rich soil. Stems should be cut back in late winter. They are late to break ground in the spring.

Comment: I will say that I received my shipment here in Florida and am looking forward to trying this hardy variety of Hibiscus here. Had great success with them in NJ but the long rainy summers of Florida could be a challenge for them here.
