Plant Features

Supertunia® Royal Velvet® Petunia Plants offer exceedingly rich, purple-blue blossoms that refuse to fade, even as the blossom itself begins to fade. The diminutive throats are almost black in color. The heaviest veins and midribs are colored the same lush, steadfast purple as the throat, providing a 5-rayed star and contrasting decoration on each individual petal. This heat and drought tolerant plant blooms all season! Self-cleaning, no deadheading necessary. Petunia flowers produce a sugary nectar that hummingbirds and butterflies love.

Supertunia® Royal Velvet® Petunia Plant Care Instructions: For optimal performance, keep your plants well-watered. Choose containers with functioning drain holes as petunias will not tolerate wet feet. Trimming will help keep your petunias looking fresh all season long.

Here are our favorite methods:

Trim a third of the plant back by a third, this should be done every other week, cycling through the three areas.
Find the longest stems that only have one flower and trim them to the main stem, this method should be done weekly.
The most drastic approach would be to trim back the complete plant by 1/3 every 6 weeks.

Beautiful and easy

I use petunias for my planter on my deck. They are beautiful and drought resistant. Also last until early November in the Illinois weather. I tried them out last year and liked them so much I ordered them again. I also purchased other colors. Buying them again for the years to come.

I'm a fan!

I LOVE supertunias! I bought another type of petunia, and it just can't compare. No matter where I plant them, they thrive. This particular beauty has such a deep, rich color that doesn't fade. The lime green foliage is also a great contrast.

Very, very pleased

This year, bc of social distancing, I ordered plants from about 10 different sites. I had never ordered from GrowJoy before, but will DEFINITELY use them again! The plants were beautiful. Not a spot of damage and the soil was still moist. They barely knew they were transplanted and immediately started growing vigorously. The difference in the plants from different places was unbelievable. This was an eye-opening experience.
