The Wolverine Hosta Plant is an eye-catching variety that forms a dense, cascading mound of shiny, wavy, tapering leaves. The leaves have lovely deep blue-green centers and wide, golden margins on leaves that can be up to 10-inches long. Its hummingbird and bee attracting lavender blossoms appear on 20-inch scapes in late summer. Wolverine ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).

Wolverine Hosta Plant Care Instructions: Soil should be kept moist during the early part of the season. Once the summer heat sets in, the soil can dry slightly between waterings. In late fall, after frost has turned the foliage brown, it should be cut back to the ground. Roots should be divided every 3-5 years. Early fall or early spring is an excellent time to divide. Spring is also the best time to apply one application of liquid fertilizer.
