Plant Features

Dahlinova® Carolina Red Dahlia offer well-branched growth with uniform flowering over the entire summer! If you're a fan of rich, dark red blooms set against perfect green backdrops you'll want to grow this one. These rain and mildew tolerant plants are versatile enough to be used in landscaping.

Dahlia Plant Care: Wait until green sprouts emerge from the soil before watering. Then water deeply 2-3 times per week. Daily if in containers. Fertilize every 2-3 weeks for containers and every 3-4 weeks for soil grown. Use fertilizers that have a lower nitrogen count, generally half the amount of the other two on the NPK ratio. After frost has turned foliage brown, dig up the tubers and store them for the winter.

Growing strong

Im anxious for this dahlia to bloom. I bought several: one for a hanging basket that is the focus of my garden well, one for the bucket under my mailbox, and several for spots in the back and front garden. Looks healthy and strong.

Ready to grow

This plant arrived with nice green foliage. I can't wait to see it produce those beautiful deep red blooms! They have already started to show buds. It is just a matter of time. I can't wait!
