Goji Berry, botanically known as Lycium barbarum (LĬS-ee-um bar-BEAR-um), is a hardy, deciduous shrub prized for its nutrient-rich berries and adaptability to various growing conditions. The bright, orangey-red, oblong berries, which ripen in late summer to early fall, are packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, making them a popular superfood. Though Goji Berries are highly touted, we recommend talking with your doctor first, as there are some indications that these berries may interact with warfarin, a blood thinner, and some diabetes and blood pressure drugs. These berries can be eaten fresh, dried (like raisins), or used in smoothies, teas, and desserts. Goji Berry shrubs produce small, star-shaped, purple flowers in early summer, followed by its highly nutritious, detectable fruit. Thriving in full sun and well-draining soil, Goji Berry is drought-tolerant, once established, and is relatively low-maintenance, an ideal choice for edible landscapes, gardens, or containers. The plant also has a sprawling, arching growth habit, which can be trained to grow on trellises or left to grow naturally. Its ability to tolerate various climates and soil types makes it a multitalented addition to any landscape.

At GrowJoy, we take great care in cultivating our Goji Berry starter plants using sustainable practices to ensure they are safe for your garden and beneficial to pollinators. Each plant is nurtured to develop a strong root system, allowing it to establish quickly and flourish in your landscape.
