Plant Features

Edda is a free flowering clematis that produces violet-blue flowers with red stripes. Edda offers a long flowering season, from June to September; however, the heaviest blooming takes place in July and August. It flowers on new wood so vines should be trimmed back to 6-12 inches in late winter. Clematis require moist soils to grow well. In northern gardens they do best in full sun but prefer lightly shaded areas in southern gardens.
