Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote', or Hidcote English Lavender, is a beloved and aromatic addition to any garden. This compact cultivar is renowned for its deep purple flower spikes that rise above silvery-gray foliage, creating a stunning visual and olfactory display. Typically growing to a height and width of 18-24 inches, Hidcote Lavender is perfect for borders, rock gardens, and formal herb gardens.

One of the most appealing aspects of Hidcote Lavender is its ability to attract a wide range of pollinators, particularly bees and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for gardeners looking to support local wildlife. The plant's intense fragrance is not only pleasing to humans but also acts as a natural deterrent to deer and rabbits, adding to its practicality in the garden.

When it comes to cultivation, Hidcote Lavender is prized for its drought tolerance and low-maintenance nature. It thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, preferring slightly alkaline conditions. Once established, it requires minimal watering and care. To maintain its compact shape and encourage reblooming, it's recommended to prune lightly after the first flowering and more heavily in early spring.

Companion planting can enhance the beauty and effectiveness of Hidcote Lavender in the garden. Consider pairing it with other sun-loving, drought-tolerant plants that complement its color and texture. Some excellent companions include Echinacea (Coneflowers), Salvia, Sedum, ornamental grasses, Rosemary, and roses for a classic cottage garden look.

At GrowJoy, we cultivate our Hidcote Lavender plants without harmful pesticides, ensuring they're safe for your garden and the pollinators they attract. Each plant is carefully nurtured to develop a strong root system, allowing it to establish quickly and thrive once planted. We guarantee that every Hidcote Lavender plant will arrive in excellent condition, ready to bring its signature color, fragrance, and charm to your garden.

Wonderful Scent Already

This lavender arrived in perfect condition thanks to Grow Joy's meticulous care & superior packaging. It is already growing since transplanting less than a week ago & I can smell its lovely scent even though it hasn't bloomed yet. Thank you for a great experience & for bringing more joy to this home!

Lovely Hidcote Lavender!

I'm so happy to have found organic lavender! I planted some of them in my Greenstalk planter where they are quite happy. The others I put into my deck railing planter. They aren't doing quite as well, simply because I have an adorable little chipmunk who loves to burrow in and hide nuts. He must be enjoying the fragrance too because I catch him napping beside it. Overall, Chipmunk and lavender are co-existing nicely.

Hidicote Lavender

Have never received lavender plants in such good condition from a mail in nursery. Plus, I was able to get my favorite variety for my area - hidicote.
