It is a miniature variety that flowers continuously all the way till the first frost. Like other smooth hydrangeas, it flowers on new growth and so blooms every year without fail. If you choose to prune, its best to do so in early spring just as the new growth starts pushing out. Do not prune back more than 1/3 of the total length of the plant.
