Poker Face Kniphofia Plants produce rich, red-orange flower spikes that bloom high above its clumps of grass-like foliage. After the first flush of flowers it will continue blooming all summer long. Cutting back the spent spikes will keep the plant looking fantastic. Red hot poker, or touch lily plants grow best in full sun to part shaded locations with fertile, well-drained soil. The roots require a lot of water during the blooming season to keep the new buds coming. They love container and make excellent cut flowers. Kniphofia plants are an excellent source of nectar for butterflies and hummingbirds. They tend to be overlooked by the rabbits and deer.
