Plant Features

Solar Flare Prairieblues Baptisia Plants are variety with this unusual metamorphosis of blossom color . Emerging buttery yellow, the pea-like flowers of this cultivar are borne on tall, strong inflorescences that stand 12 to 18-inches above the blue-green foliage. As they age, the flowers that first emerged in yellow start to take on a peachy-orange blush, finally fading to violet; all colors being present on the same plant, in fact, on the same stem, at the same time. Known to attract butterflies, they are drought tolerant and long-lived. Our Solar Flare Wild Indigo will provide you with a late spring and early summer show for years to come, while its wonderful, dense, vase-shaped foliage pleases all season long! Commonly called: Wild indigo, False indigo.
