Plant Features

Red Hot Return Hemerocallis produces vibrant, large 5-inch flowers that boast an eye-catching lemon-yellow throat with crimson-red petals that are held nicley above its dark green foliage. Red Hot Return ships as a bare root. We like growing from bare roots because they establish quickly, become twice the size of a potted plant in the first season, and eliminate the need for plastic pots (a win for the environment).

Common Names: day lilies, daylily, day lily

Hemerocallis Companion Plants: Crocosmia, Geranium, Grasses, Nepeta

Red Hot Return Hemerocallis Plant Care: Besides apply water if the plant starts looking droopy (which is practically never), there is not much else this plant needs. The flower stalks can be cut back after the plant is done blooming for the season. Dividing daylilies is not necessary unless you don't want them spreading. Division can be done in early fall when the foliage is being cut back to the ground.
