Plant Features

Sherbet Cocktail Tall Phlox Plant is the first garden phlox to have yellow in its make-up. Bred by Jan Verschoor, yellowy-green buds emerge from rich maroon-brown bracts and then open with either soft pastel lavender-pink or white centers with yellow edges, forming flower clusters that can look remarkably like rainbow sherbet. Somewhat resembling a hydrangea blossom, the flowers have a slightly waxy appearance and hold up well. Deadheading will prolong the blooming season, and this is one that you want to keep on blossoming to bring the butterflies!

Sherbet Cocktail Tall Phlox Plant Care Instructions: Keep the plant well-watered for the first 3-4 weeks. For continuous flowering keep the soil most, 2-3 inches of mulch will help. Early spring a great time to add fertilizer, another application can be applied in June. Tall phlox should have their tips trimmed back once the stems have grown about 6 inches in early spring. After the first hard frost they can be trimmed back to the ground.
