Heliopsis helianthoides 'Sunstruck' is a variegated perennial that captivates with its 2-inch deep golden yellow blossoms, blooming earlier than most and continuing from summer into fall. Its compact stature, complemented by cream and green variegated foliage, offers a striking contrast against its vibrant flowers. This dazzling variety is ideally suited for small garden spaces or containers, making the most of its height and colorful display. Sunstruck is shipped as a bare root, a method we favor for its ability to establish quickly, double in size compared to its potted counterparts within the first season, and omit the necessity for plastic pots—providing an eco-friendly advantage.

Heliopsis Plant Care Instructions: Besides applying water if the foliage starts looking droopy, little to no care is needed once the plant is established. If you wish to attract wild birds, leave the spent flowers as they are until early spring, then cut back the dried foliage to the ground. However, if attracting birds isn't your preference, after the first hard frost causes the plant's foliage to die back, you can trim the stems down to about 2-4 inches above the ground.
