Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in White' is the more refined of the Vision series. This variety produces loads of creamy, white, large, flowery plumes, but atop foliage that is smoother than its pink and red cousins. The robust foliage is bluish-green and sets the pristine white blossoms off to perfection. Planted en masse they look like billowy, low-flying ground clouds when in full bloom. Vision in White is shipped as a bare root, a method we favor for its ability to establish quickly, double in size compared to its potted counterparts within the first season, and omit the necessity for plastic pots—providing an eco-friendly advantage.
Common Names: chinese astilbe, false spirea, false goat's beard
Astilbe Companion Plants: Ferns, Helleborus, Hosta
Astilbe Plant Care Instructions: Ensure your plants remain consistently hydrated, as allowing them to dry out can be detrimental. The faded flowers may be pruned to encourage further blooming, or left intact to add enduring visual interest to your garden. Come early winter, consider trimming back the foliage to a modest 2 inches above the ground to promote healthy, vibrant growth in the forthcoming spring season.
