Viticella Madame Julia Correvron Clematis Plants bring vines blanketed in red, pinwheel-shaped flowers from late spring until fall. Use this compact vine to climb a trellis or tree, or weave in between other plantings for an added floral effect. In northern gardens, it will do best in full sun but prefer lightly shaded areas in southern gardens. If you want earlier flower, only prune back half the plant. For later blooms, prune back to 16-inches. This can be done in late winter. It can also be pruned back by half after the first blooms are spent for a rebloom.
