Plant Features

Viticella Purpurea Plena Elegans Clematis are a unique clematis with distinctive double blooms in a lovely dusty rose color. Long lasting blooms over an extended bloom period are hallmarks of this climber. It can be trained to climb anywhere, from a trellis to an old tree or fence. It blooms on new wood, so pruning back to 16-inches in late winter is best. Clematis require moist soils to grow well. In northern gardens they do best in full sun but prefer lightly shaded areas in southern gardens. Deer and rabbits seldom bother clematis.
